Week 8 matchup has been a brutal one for the Giants.

Five of the eighteen starting quarterbacks did not complete the games in the early schedule due to injuries or poor performance. The Minnesota Vikings’ Kirk Cousins was thought to have torn his Achilles tendon, which would have prevented him from playing for the remainder of the season.

Giants versus. Jets: More punts than points
It was genuinely fascinating to watch the last minute of regulation and then overtime in the Jets and Giants‘ in-state rivalry. Let’s just say that the viewers, both live and on television, deserved it because the rest of it was boring.
The total offensive yardage for these teams was 445 yards. Out of 34 third-down attempts, two on each side, they only converted four. Jamie Gillan and Thomas Morstead combined for 24 punts totaling 1,078 yards. Jets (4-3) prevailed, 13–10. However, the Giants (2–6) were essentially unwatchable. The Giants’ passing yardage of -9 was the lowest since 2000 for any team. With one reception for four yards apiece, running back Matt Breida and tight end Darren Waller led the team in receiving.
